És ha a megadott helyeken látható különféle feliratokat, számokat nem jelszó formájában kell megadni, hanem a láda koordinátájának kiszámításához használni? Az jobb?

Csak teljesen véletlenszerűen és elrettentésképpen egy osztrák cache (Insel in der Mur, GCZNBE) leírásából:

The Coordinates in the header only point to the centre of the Island.
The cache is hidden at:
47° 04.ABC
15° 26.DEF

In order to find the missing numbers you have to solve the following tasks:

A: count the number of steps of the stairway leading to the bank of the right side of the river. (towards the Kunsthaus) and take the cross foot.
B: Find the name of the restaurant on the island (2 words) and convert the second letter of the second word into a number (A=1, B=2… Z=26)
C: Count the number of steps of the stairway leading to the road at the left side of the river and divide the result by 5
D: On the floor you can find LED elements displaying arrows. Count the number of elements and subtract 2 from the result
E: Count the number of waste bins
F: count the number of metal handrails along the stairway of the tribune and devide the result by 7

Akkor már inkább a jelszó!! Vagy nem?

Az idézett log nyilvánvalóan a .com-on található. Teljesen jogosan reklamálnak, ugyanis a legnagyobb ostobaság a .com-os ládaleírásban benne hagyni a jelszóval kapcsolatos részeket. A .com-ra kerülő leírást, és szükség szerint magát a ládát is, adaptálni kell a .com szabályaihoz, és nem mindenféle jelszórészletekről hadoválni, aminek a .com-on semmi értelme.

Hát igen... ha a reklamáló illető a geocaching.com-on nevelkedett, vagy más olyan helyen, ahol nem elterjedt a jelszó használata a megtalálások bejelentésénél, akkor ilyen értetlenkedő logok keletkeznek. A külföldről érkező többség azonban érdekes módon megérti a lényeget, és elfogadja, hogy a geocaching.hu oldalon csak jelszóval lehet bejelenteni a megtalálást. Ha pedig valamelyik feladatot bonyolultnak tartja, akkor ott van még 1802 másik feladat.
